Description
Begun as a radio program , Dragnet transitioned to television, books and comics. It's popularity solidified Chester Gould's vision of a policeman hero in Dick Tracy. Dragnet was closely linked to the Los Angeles police with creator/star Jack Webb often touting their effectiveness and the policies of its chief William Parker during a controversial period of the Department's history.
