Brendon D'Arkness confronts his supernatural foe in this action sequence. The dialogue goes:

"There's one thing I don't understand... Why did you save my life by showing me I was about to be killed by Azalhee?"

"Because the spike was not supposed to pierce your heart... but mine!"

"Aaaah!"

"The only object that could... kill me... was the one that gave me life... the beginning and the end... do you understand? It's written in the books of darkness. The darkness... is losing their angel... or perhaps, their servant..."

This makes sense of the title, "In the Heart of Darkness," which is where the icepick lodges.
