DescriptionPowerful golden age illustration by Harold Cue. In truth, I had never heard of Harold Cue before buying this, but I thought the painting was beautiful so went for it. I later learned that Cue was a book and magazine illustrator in the early twentieth century, best known for his cowboy and aviation art. This is what I love about this hobby - so many great artists to unearth and explore. Oil on canvas (28” x 20”).Social/Sharing |

I've not heard of Cue before either, but that's a powerful piece. I love the way Cue framed the main characters with those lighter gray areas.
Congrats Ben!

Gorgeous Civil War illustration by Harold Cue. Love the image of the soldier holding his dead comrade while a vision of the battle looms overhead. Very moving painting--Great pick-up!
