Description

Darryl Banks created the character Parallax along with Ron Marx as part of the story detailing the fall and redemption of Hal Jordan.

When I saw Darryl at HeroesCon 2023, I asked him if he'd be interested in my Artist's Choice and Why sketchbook; he was up for the challenge.

As always, I have no clue what they will do. In this case, he created a marvelous head shot of Magneto. The obvious question is, "Why Magneto?" Well, it turns out that Magneto was part of the inspiration for Hal as Parallax. Who knew?

I forgot to take Darryl's picture with the sketchbook; guess I'll have to go back to HeroesCon in 2024! :)

Pretty nice! I guess Banks saw that for each, a traumatic moment in their lives turned them onto the path of villainy.

At first glance (and mini size) I thought it was a Finch piece.
