11x17" Marvel Comics artboard has pen and ink original art for the cover to Ewoks #11, published by Marvel under their Star Comics imprint in Jan. 1987. Art is by Warren Kremer (1921-2003), best known for creation of the Harvey Comics characters Richie Rich, Hot Stuff the Little Devil and Stumbo the Giant. Cover features Wicket the Ewok, holding a tiny Princess Kneesaa in his hands as pair of alien insects watch from bush. Art has "Ewoks" title stat pasteover as well as publisher indicia stat pasteovers and vellum overlay attached at top w/aged masking tape. Art has large 11.25" long diagonal slice and smaller 4.5" slice to surface across upper half of artboard, cutting through and separating overlay (which has triangular piece missing at right) and slicing across publisher indicia and word balloons. Slice actual cuts through artboard in 3" areas at right side. Despite this, main image area is unaffected. Staple holes across top margin and at lower right. VG overall, but still display nicely. Marvel only published 14 issues of the Ewoks comic,w/this the first cover of original art to come to auction.
