Description

Boris Artzybasheff, Ukrainian-born surrealist,* certainly had one of the most distinctive styles in 20th century American illustration. This is one of a run of 80 Artzybasheff printed to give friends; it also appeared in his 1954 book "As I See." Full details in accompanying letter from the collector John D. Merriam.

* Artzybasheff is often called a Russian artist but was from Kharkiv. Slava Ukraini.
