Description

Stories in outlandish settings often have a human character new to those surroundings. It's a point of reference for the reader, and a convenient person to ask questions that the reader has. Who are all you people? What's going on here? "Well, let me tell you. Two hundred years ago..."

For this series, the POV character, Domino Drake, is an Earth teen who finds herself riding through the stars with a pirate crew. Pretty dangerous! As with Carol Danvers in the Captain Marvel movie, an exploding alien device has imbued our heroine with powers to make her an integral participant, instead of just a spectator in the unfolding adventure. Domino gains the power to turn into any of the four elements. On this page, water comes in handy to wash some evil rodent buccaneers overboard, where they presumably perish in the vacuum of space.

Somehow she needs to make a dramatic removal of her cloak to use her powers!

It's because she is the water, so an exit from the cloak is necesssary.
