Description

It's easy to forget just how big a splash Land made on Sojourn. None of the Crossgen books were huge hits within the industry but several artists broke out - Land included. The Ankharans were a great part of the series - despite the hokey name (a rare miss by Ron). They were a striking addition to the world building in the series. This second panel is a great example of how Land and Leisten made use of their wings and iconography.

As in most of Land's work from this era, you can start to see his heavy use of reference. But I always felt like his storytelling was more fluid in Sojourn than in later work.

Am very excited to have another of these pieces in my collection. Many thanks to Rene for the very smooth transaction through CAF classifieds.
