Gotham City: Year One #6, p.2

The second of a three page Batober Gotham City sequence I’m posting today!

The varying pattern design of this entire sequence (Slam panel / city panel / Slam panel, etc.) is an elegant and strong one, and this middle page allows us two views of Gotham buckling.

At the beginning of this series, we are treated to a view of a bright, youthful-feeling Gotham City, with a crime rate far lower than that of Metropolis. The events of this story basically break Gotham and set it on a trajectory to become the fictional place we all know it as today.

The series was a fun exploration of Gotham’s turn to the Dark Side, as well as the role played by the family who would soon produce its most famous protector.
