Anarky #2 (1997) by Norm Breyfogle and Kevin Nowlan.

The second of the four pieces I picked up at SDCC. I wasn't going to buy anything at SDCC. The plan was to pick up and pay for, a few pieces a friend was holding for me. Unfortunately or fortunately they forgot the art, which freed up some cash.

I found this one while looking through Kwan Chang's portfolios. Initially, I was interested in a different piece Kwan had but once I saw the Breyfogle I knew I was going to buy it.

Anarky #2 from the 1997 mini series. Anarky was co-created by Alan Grant and Norm Breyfogle and first appeared in Detective Comics #608. Breyfogle covers are hard to come by and while it's not Batman, it's Batman adjacent. Great image of Anarky crouched on a statue of Darkseid. Norm's dynamic pencils are there and it's just gorgeously inked by Nowlan. It's a great cover!

So good! Breyfogle drew so many excellent covers, including this beauty! Excellent pickup!

You can get Breyfogle on Batman titles, but you got the warm Nowlan inks on him here which made this more special.
