The resistance is about to mount their attack and Sarge is key in setting it off. He could abandon ship and let the computer take over but he wants to make sure the job us done.

Sargeant Max Webster is a character I took to instantly in this book. Such a great character design and throughout the story you wonder of all the things he's been through in his past. His weathered and worn face, sacrificing himself at the end, achieving some level of redemption.

Not a wonder why Sarge would become the main character in a prequel story in the same universe, for Precious Metal. Ian Bertram's amazing visuals carried Little Bird and I look forward to his continued, amazing evolution in PM.

It's great how there is so much raw emotion on display.  Ian Bertram is unafraid to peel back and show the grotesque in all its true purpose.  This is if Basil Wolverton had to do full drama.

I had a similar reaction when I saw it, but I thought it was a bit like Wolverton crossed with Otomo or Miyazaki (his manga style).

Little Bird is one of the best books I've read in the last couple years. And the reason for that is the art by Iam Bretram. IMHO, Bertram's work on Little Bird was nothing short of amazing. Every page was rendered with such conviction and such emotion that a reader like me couldn't help but be moved. This page is a perfect example of the intensity that Bertram brought to life. You really felt for the characters. At least, I did. Congratulations!
