Description

I've admired Tula's work for awhile and finally found something to add to the collection.

Some interesting process stuff going on here.
This book was created with both physical are and with the use of putting things together digitally. With the top panel being used as the prelim for page 27, which was changed to a full splash and the bottom panel ending page 26.

How it was published may have been the way to go but I like how the art turned out on this original.

Lotay's vision of this pin up piece has an ethereal quality with how the watercolors and wash flow and deepen around her. This more relaxed pose against the bi plane is hard to do in positioning her in space on the wing.

Such a beautiful work of art by Tula Lotay! Love this piece, with the young woman in the long white dress sitting demurely on the wing of the biplane, waiting for her...pilot? boyfriend? brother? lover? Then we see the face of the man she's waiting for. Fantastic work by Lotay!
