John Byrne and Keith Williams

After Uncanny X-Men, Fantastic Four and Alpha Flight came John Byrne's Incredible Hulk run back in the mid 80's. JB's fight scenes with Hulk vs Samson and Hulk vs Samson vs Avengers are among my all-time favorites. It was a HUGE bummer when he abruptly left the title after only 6 issues.

Lucky to score this page from JB's all too short run years ago. It's pretty much all Doc Samson. I liked the changes JB made to Doc Samson at the time. These issues made me a big fan of Leonard Samson.

Agree with you on Doc Samson, probably my favorite Hulk character (I have the Bowen statue...). Really cool page.

Awesome! When I think Byrne I think Hulk first because of this short run - loved it as a young'n! And particularly THIS fight from THIS issue! Samson pressing the advantage! Big congrats!
