CLICK HERE FOR AUCTION LISTING!11x16.5" DC comic art board contains pencil and ink artwork for Justice League Annual #1. DC 1987. Pencils by Bill Willingham. This issue had six different inkers and according to the credits on page 4, inks on this page were done by Dick Giordano. Storyline "Germ Warfare" in which an entity possesses everyone it comes in contact with including members of the Justice League. On this splash page #39 (story page #33), the entity uses possessed humans to form a giant monster to take on Martian Manhunter. In the foreground of the page you see Mr. Miracle, Black Canary and Batman (all possessed) and Martian Manhunter in center. Manhunter was drawn into a different size and position and then made into a stat and moved down and original art was covered by a cut-out piece and inked over. An interesting note in bottom margin "XXXXXXXX INK ARTIST! CLOTHES ALERT! CLOTHES ALERT!". Most likely when monster was drawn, the human bodies that it is made up of has no defined clothes, so it would have looked like it was made of nude people. The colored page shows colored clothing in most panels, however in two panels the monster is just flesh tone anyway for distant views. Lt. aging/wear. Trim at top edge. Exc.
