Love that bare arm and hand in the front. Congrats buddy!
Killer piece! It's where the anime inspired armor really got the spotlight and put them on the road to getting us the MCU Iron Man. Great industrial theme to the whole cover to represent the world Tony comes from.
Generally Anime armors are designed to function. Where most ironman armors are just metal plates with muscle lines drawn over it, which makes no sense for movement.
Man, one of the THE original images from the series. A truly great looking piece of art as well as super important - that's what we call a double whammy. Love this series to this day, as it really changed the game, and part of that had to do withe designs. Witness exhibit A :) I still flip through my Ultimates and Ultimates 2 trades for sure. And I agree. When I think "Hitch" I think "Utimates". Huge congrats!
Thansk Kahlil! Now I know what a double whammy is! Glad you also enjoyed the series.
Great piece of art utilized in a variety of places, congrats!
Luv the Precision Robotic and Mechanical Detail line Work!!
Fantastic Iron Man from Ulitimates #2 by Brian Hitch! Like you, I love the design of the armor here, it really gives Iron Man a totally different look. I also love that he's surrounded here by lots of cleverly designed tech. The crisp, sharp inks of Andrew Currie finish the cover off nicely. Great pick-up, congrats!
Agreed Ultimates was so shockingly good - heroes you can't actually like and stunning all action art by Hitch . Out of this world ! Great cover from a seminal book.
A breathtaking array of details that leaves the viewer's brain pan rattling around in the floor! One of -THE- indelible images from that classic run (well-deserving of its "classic" status!) and an iron-clad testament to the design brilliance of Bryan Hitch. This is not visual techno mumbo-jumbo: each bolt, rivet, plate, socket, and winch serves a very distinct purpose and speaks to a forethought of intentionality and design that grounded this hyper-reality in "dry reality", and made the reading experience of The Ultimates engrossing and engaging in ways I had never seen before. An INCREDIBLE piece!! :)
A titanic add to your already towering collection, anim sketch! What a treasure! Sincere congrats!
Thanks for the kind words Jason! and well said!
