DescriptionWolverine Black White and Blood was a really fun mini series.. it was an anthology of short stories featuring wolverine from different points in time on new adventures presented in only black white and red. Some really great artists had entries in the book . Because of my fondness for the book characters and creators I have been able to get examples of most of the stories. But one that eluded me until now was Chris Bachalos entry … and this one stung a bit because not only am I big Bachalo fan..but the story also features Wolverine fighting Juggernaut another of my faves. Luckily Chris was cool enough and understanding enough to let a fantastic action page he was planning on keeping go to me!Some cool things about the page… it is a rare example of Chris Bachalo inking himself. I believe it is the first time he inked himself . I’m always a fan of pages where we can get purity from an artist. Second thing is he used a fun technique on the page. If you look close enough you can see stats on the page. Well the art is under all of those stats. The reason he used the stats was to create the textured shading. I think it came out great! Some cool things about the story page..Wolverine …Juggernaut… wolverine stabbing Juggs in the head and even a cosmic shots rider panel! Just awesome ! Social/Sharing |

Neatly balanced black and white achieved in each panel with the zip playing a role. At first they look all separate like a jam done by multiple artists, but it makes you have to focus in to follow the narrative. It guess it would be too intense if he followed a traditional layout to have the blocks all uniform and too dense to penetrate.

Gritty goodness! Dig the top to bottom action scene storytelling, and I agree, cool seeing an ALL Chris piece. Congrats!

I'm a big fan of these short story collections. Chris brought some intense action to this page as only he can. Great pickup!
