Description
I am thrilled to add this piece to my collection as I had been looking for a piece with the Collector to add to my collection for some time now. What better than a full splash Collector. Additionally, it comes with a showdown between the Collector and Howard the Duck, who has been imbued with the Power Cosmic. These two are definitely two peas in a pod and having them together in fight pose is totally awesome. It might not be a true Guardians of the Galaxy page, but it totally relates to their overall story. Thus, I figured it would be best to place it in this collection. It is a killer page, and it makes me smile every time I look at it.

This piece has Joe Rivera inks over Joe Quinones blue lines. The inks were pretty tight on the blue lines and looks quite amazing. They created quite a scene when it came to this end page.

No way!  Howard the Cosmic Duck?  There's not a lot I miss about no longer buying or reading comics, but this page REALLY has me itching to check out the full story.  I thought I had seen it all in my 50-plus years of reading comics, but this may take the cake for coolest (and weirdest) thing ever!  Congrats buddy!  Not sure if there is anyone else in the hobby who can claim to own a Cosmic Duck splash.

I was loving what I was reading. Some good stuff in both Vol. 4 and 5. Very excited for my cosmic Duck. Thanks Eric!

"...it makes me smile every time I look at it".

Any page that makes you feel that way is a GREAT page!

When I look into blue lines
I can see a duck in inks
But Howard when I hold you
Joe you know I feel insane?

Inkin' lasts Rivera
And we both know duck l'orange
And it's hard to hold to Marvel
In a cold Collector's way

We've been comics such a long long time
Just tryin' to end the page, ooh yeah
Duck is always cosmic, Duck feet always webbing
No one's really sure who's winnin' on this page
Waddling away

If we could take the time to lay Quinones line
I could rest my head just knowin' that you were mine
Blue line
So if you want to love these then darlin' Duck away
Or you'll just end up lookin' at the old Collector's face

Do you need blue lines on their own?
Do you need ink lines all alone?
Ooh, even Zdarsky some time on their book
Ooh, don't you know you need some time inked by Joe

I know how Howard keeps an open heart
When cosmic friends seem out to Duck you
But if you could tell the inks apart
What kind of harm would it do?
Oh, oh, oh

I hope to rest my head with some fanciful dreams. I can see them now... Duck l'orange imbued some Cosmic Powers. Me the Collector. "DUCK L'ORANGE! YOU ARE MINE! ---Welcome to my belly collection. HA, HA, HA!"

Ah, shucks! No Power Cosmic Duck L'Orange. Weirdly enough though Loki was in my dreams last night and called me his directions man. Yep, thats right. I am DIRECTIONS MAN lol. Imbued with the power to tell you where to turn next. Possibly the worst super power ever, but hey I'll take it.

Quinones is one of the better Howard artists I've seen over the years.

He definetly put in the hours and its noticable. I'm a fan of the duck. Probably has something to do with my birding hobby.

Howard!!! I haven't seen this much nudity since James S last post.

And everyone can be assured. Naked ducks. Oh yes. We are still in Saskatoon.

It looks like they have a company called Saskatoon Waterfoul Outfitters. My guess is that they've been trying to put clothes on ducks for years. Also, I am going to have to look at James S's post for the good of the community. You know... Like a Cupbearer.

Like how the image kind of feels like 2 different types of art on each side.  On the left got more inks, the Krackle, and that hazyish rendering on the Howard figure, while on the right you've got some cleaner lines.  Super effective.  Congrats, Ian!

I truly appreciate your comment. I hadn't thought about it, but so true. Unbeknownst to me, it might have drawn me in for that reason.
