DescriptionWhat a cool sketch cover! This was put up during a Mirka Andolfo Whatnot stream at NYCC.Im already a big fan of Andolfo(who I happened to encounter at THREE cons within 5 months this year... hopefully she doesn't think me a stalker) and I've loved Carlo Lauros work on the current Darkwing book. Emanuele Ercolani I was unfamiliar with, but I happened to meet him during my time at the con prior to this stream when I met Lauro, and they are both very cool, talented artists that I share a lot in common with. So, when this got put up for auction, no one seemed to be buying it, and I couldn't let it escape and went for it off of impulse. Wasn't planning the expense but the piece is great in person. Due to Andolfo having a cover gig on Darkwings book, she's gotten to draw his mystical main squeeze Morgana a few times already and having an original of the character by her is a big get for me. Lauro delivers a perfectly on model rendering of his trusty sidekick and best friend Launchpad McQuack and Ercolani brings a hard-core, stocky rendition of his rival hero Gizmoduck colored in white that jumps off the page. Its my first jam piece, a very unique one at that. No regrets. Morgana Macawber by Mirka Andolfo Launchpad McQuack by Carlo "Cid" Lauro Gizmoduck by Emanuele Ercolani Social/Sharing |

Thanks! I tend to prefer the colored blanks because they pop much more.

The orange base color gives the artists a challenge that they can tackle in different ways. I think you have all three artists doing something different with it.

I agree! One used it for highlights, one for the background and one for the figure itself. Pretty dynamic visually
