Contrasting colors. You learn about them in Art 101 and how they can be used to focus your eye. I wanted more of the figure to be the focus, instead of just the hand, so I used warm colors to make the whole effect the card vs just the throw. I also love painting all the buildings. I based them on a little corner of Prague I found wonderful references on.
