Zoom out too far and I have a creature card. Zoom in too close and it’s illegible as a chariot. I tinkered at the thumbnail stage for a good long while making sure how much was too much, or too little, for my art director to choose the best options.

I loved painting the lapis lazuli. For how ubiquitous it was in antiquity and in artmaking, rarely do I use it today. It was fun to connect with ancient artists, if only briefly for a moment.
