Description

Obtained at the exhibition "The Birth of Myth", September 9th, 2023.

In the late 1990s, Yoshitaka Amano spent several years living and working in New York. Shortly after his first major exhibition "Think Like Amano", he met Neil Gaiman and eventually they created "Sandman: The Dream Hunters" together.

Amano would paint on various surfaces, including old shopping bags. I found this vintage bag on eBay and had the bright idea of having him sign it. Amano and his manager were very surprised when I pulled this out. Little did I know he would be displaying some of those same Dean & Deluca bags during this exhibit. It was an honor to see his work in person and meet the master himself.

Pretty classic as he tends to do these half faces that takes some time to adjust your focus to see clearly what it is. You won't get anywhere if you look up close.

Yeah, and he draws *fast*. Some people were getting gorgeous Vampire Hunter and Moogle sketches as well.
