Apocalypse Sketch Cover by Walter Simonson

Walt Simonson keeps all his art!! It makes it very difficult for us OA collectors to get any decent examples lol .. eventually I’ll track down a page from his xfactor run.. until then this Apocalypse Sketch cover he did for me will have to do. The whole story of how Xfactor came about fascinates me.. to much to go into here but the original main villian was supposed to be the Owl (yea the daredevil guy!!) but then Louise Simonson abruptly took the book over only a few issues in and thankfully she had a better vision and on the fly created Apocalypse… now I’m not sure if Walt had anything to do with his design (I know Butch Guice drew him first but some places Walt is sighted as a creator too) but in my head when I picture Apocalypse I picture Walt Simonson drawing him from the classic stories Louise and Walt created during there run together!
