This was one of my favorite stories by the great team of Giffen/Mahlstedt. The 3rd panel is a favorite, as are the ankhs. Congrats on adding this to your collection.

Rounded corner panels are special and one self contained origin tale recap comes along rarely! Giffen and Mahlstedt's Legion work is great storytelling and you can see a lot of that dramatic detailed work applied here with Doctor Fate.

It's been approximately 4 decades since, but there was a time when these issues featuring Giffen Dr. Fate were considered collectible "key books", because of how hot Giffen was as an artist at the time. What a great page!

Just a wonderful page. Giffen and Mahlstedt did some of the best DC work of the 20th Century,
