Scalera designs the composition like the golden age of sci-fi era illustration of the 50's, but modernizes with his stylish and signature wash paints instead of illustration lines and crosshatches that proivide levels of depth within.
I love vintage sci-fi stuff! I'm happy that two of my favorite artists are very good in drawing classic sci-fi inspired art (the other one is Spacegirl by Travis Charest).

I've gotten a few Grant McKay's from different artists, and they're all great...but no one draws Grant like Scalera :)

Beautifully rendered blacks,greys and whites in this page.Matteo has his value scale down when it comes to the whole creative process.He seems to get better and better as time goes by and I'm thrilled to own a piece by him too.
