Purient hack job. Whoever would do such a thing to this and other artwork should be called out. They show no respect for the artist and reveal more about themselves than the figures they've uncovered.
This looks like very old whiteout to me. The guy who did it is probably dead. If not, they should die of shame. I mean, he could have just got a photocopy and did his 'magic' on that. Nothing wrong with naked ladies. Impossible to restore at this time.
Actually, while the original owner is old, he is still alive. I asked the question about photocopies. He bought this story years ago for $15... that is basically $2 a page. He felt that he would have had to pay close to that much to have good, full-sized photocopies made when he did this. A poor excuse... but that is what he said.
Yowee! What a punch laid upon the original art and not for the better.
The Enrico Bagnoli "Futura" story from Planet Comics #61 was altered by Gray Morrow.
Ray... what evidence do you have of that?
Hi Wally - The story was offered for sale in 2002 on eBay and Morrow's alterations were noted. Othere than that, I'd just look at his stylistic changes on the clothing.
Very sad they were defaced like that!
I do beleie they can be restored though.
Agree a pretty sad treatment...maybe it could be restored....
