JEFF JONES, WEB OF HORROR #1 1969 COVER PRELIM! (not Wrightson, Kaluta, or Frazetta)

This is a beautiful and very detailed penciled prelim for the historic FIRST ISSUE of WEB OF HORROR from 1969! The legendary upstart competitor to Warren Publishing had an entire run of only 3 issues and was known for featuring its classic cover paintings by Jones and Wrightson on both the front and back covers of the magazines. Jeff signed the bottom-left side of this prelim as "Jones" in the same manner as on the published cover painting, which was an earlier style of signature he used before adopting the classic monogram "J". The artwork measures 10 1/2" x 13 1/2" and is in excellent condition. Vintage work from the 1960's and 1970's by this much beloved and renowned artist is getting harder to find and most of it remains in the collections of die-hard fans!
