Description

This character was created in 1981 by the brilliant writer/editor Renzo Barbieri (1930-2007) and the poliedric artist Giovanni Romanini (1945-2020).
"Ulula" was the tipical erotic comic book published in Italy in that period, with a mix of horror and pornography. But the original idea of a spicy supermodel who becames a werewolf and the great elegance of Romanini's drawings make it a series well above average.

This beautiful illustration is based on an early "portrait" of Ulula drawn by Romanini himself and a colored version of it was used for a promotional poster in 2001 (see additional images).
I lent this piece and others from my collection to the WOW Museum in Milan for an exhibition dedicated to Romanini held in January 2023.
