The movie poster for The Sugarhaters by Oliver Frey.

You won't find this in any of the cinema listings or IMDB as this was the first of two 30 minute home movies filmed in Super-8 by Oliver. Starring himself as lead villain and super spy hero roles, Swiss-born Oliver utilised Swiss folk hero William Tell's name and his love of action movies to create a James Bond-esque character called James Tell (Apple Apple 7) in an equally Bond-like adventure. It was a family affair with his sister and brother, Lauretta and Franco, helping with acting duties. Naturally Oliver created the movie poster too with the "Gala Premiere" dated as 1st December 1968...

In 1969 Oliver moved back to London to attend the London Film School to learn how to become a film director. During his time there he met Roger Kean, who later became his life and business partner and who went on to establish Newsfield Publications, the go-to computer magazine publisher in the early/mid Eighties. Their stable of magazines covering the most popular home computers of the time would showcase Oliver's art on most of their covers.

On the reverse of the poster artwork is an almost completed page of comic artwork. Although not confirmed, I'm guessing it may be some of Oliver's early Dan Dare work for the Eagle comic - whether it's finished, preparatory or just Oliver practising, I don't know. Any info on this would be great!
