Fujitani was right there when Star Wars came around and made all space opera fantasies hot once again. It helped that Flash Gordon was already a daily fixture that was syndicated in newspapers so a whle new generation of fans were created at this time. Bob Fujitani carried on the tradition of the great illustrators on the strip with himelf being a fan of the Alex Raymond in his youth.
