I wish I had been paying more attention to contemporary art back around 2007 or so, when Reis was doing Green Lantern. I love his work and wish I had acquired some of that stuff back then. The subject matter on this piece immediately reminds me of Batman #255, the final Neal Adams issue, which is fitting given that Reis also has a style based in realism. Beautiful work! I won't be wishing you a happy birthday however, since that day is still more than a week away!
Happy CAF-birthday and what an amazing way to start off! I agree, Reis has been bringing the heat on Batman and this is a great DPS.
Happy CAF birthday! Good way to commemorate the occasion. Although I'm mostly out of the loop with contemporary Big Two comics these days, I fondly remember the drawing chops Reis brought to his work on Green Lantern. Although Detective is probably a lucrative assignment, I'd love to see his work on another event book.
CAF birthday being celebrated tonight and your own CAF birthday celebrated all week long! What a way to kick off the week! Reis' layout is very cool! The pencils are great with Batman getting the drop on the werewolf! We even get a fright inducing close up!
"FM's Birthday Week"... my favorite CAF event! :) An absolutely -spectacular- example of the pure penciling prowess Ivan can bring to bear (or bat, in this case) on the projects he chooses. This can only be described as 'luscious', with the level of detail imbued on everything from the bolts on pipes, to the shadows of the factory, to the wolf's satchel bag... Rich and gorgeous work; a fantastic launch to another birthday celebration! Congrats (and happy birthday!), Fred!
Happy belated CAF birthday, man! What a way to ring in the occasion! Just some outstanding pure illustration with that pencil, whew, mixed with the storytelling. Love these images that incorporate a nice splashy shot with some panels. Congrats!
