DescriptionAnother post-OAX pickup!! I got a chance to meet Simone Bianchi and Matt Ditulio at OAX, and I was really impressed by Simone's art and his style (the art looks so much better in person!)... I asked Matt if Simone had any Cap related art, but unfortunately there wasn't much for me then... Fast forward a couple of weeks, and Matt sends me a picture of a new piece Simone had worked on for an upcoming Upper Deck Trading Card set. I loved the image, with Cap's head in the background, watching Bucky jump on a plane and about to die as it explodes. Such an iconic moment in Cap's history, that has been retold time and time again, and it was great to see Simone draw his own interpretation of it. So of course, I had to get it! The piece is on a 16x20 board, which is huge, specially when you consider it's a painting for a trading card, which will be so much smaller, and the colors are incredibly vibrant in person! Thanks Matt and thanks Simone for allowing this piece to come home to me!!!Social/Sharing |

Lovely piece. I really like that plane in this one. I know how much Simone's colors pop in person. Congrats!

Colors in waves that wash over this like memories of that fateful day when this partnership was no more! All the emotions of guilt and grieving from this one failure to save his friend summarized by a single image!

Absolutely fantastic rendition of Bucky's origin retold, and only weeks after picking up the other Bucky origin retold page by Epting! You can feel the drama and hear the plane's engine and propeller turning! Great, subdued color palette as well.
