After the Annihilation War, Ko-Rel was stranded on Drez-Lar with roughly 100 Kree soldiers. She discovered Richard Rider’s injured body after he collided with a Phalanx energy barrier while attempting to escape their territory. His crash landing sent shockwaves across the planet, marked by a resounding K-THOOM.

From the scorched shell of Nova Prime’s armor, a burst of light erupted. Ko-Rel, caught in its path, was chosen by the Worldmind for emergency deputization. Her mission: protect Nova and the Worldmind from the advancing Phalanx threat.
