"Let Loose the Hounds of War...!"
August 1977

As a collector I had the need of having a very classic Don Newton's artwork. I've been looking around for so long. Specially for a Batman's page but I couldn't find anyone I liked enough... Then this very small gem came to the market... DARKSEID!!! A cosmic villain... I knew it should be mine. And here he/it is.

Many times, I'm doubtful about what it would be better... to collect super-heroes or super-villans... Not easy to say!

Anyway, I'm very happy to announce that this piece now is curated at home.

Art is signed.

Gotta love those top 2 panels, both the images and Darkseid dialogue! Great stuff. Then...that poor chap. Had one to many the night before but didn't expect this I'm sure! Congats on a great get, Toni!

Newton was so underrated- he was the reason I strayed from Marvel to DC occassionally. Dug this series and art.

Great commanding presence by Darkseid! Newton art exemplifies the spirit of the times with a space opera feel of 1977.
