Description

Original inked cover recreation, done in 2013, of one of the greatest prime period Thor issues of all, written by Jack (with also great words by Stan) featuring Thor in battle wild space action and some beaten �Rigellian� alien soldiers. From memorable the storyline �Rigel -Where gods may fear to tread� - that introduced the great and highly strange (even by Kirby standards) �Ego, the Living Planet�, one of Marvel�s wildest cosmic entities ever (even wilder than Kurt Russell). I thought long if I should buy the original Coletta inked 1966 original art but then took this also superbly inked recreation from 2013 by professional inker Bruce McCorkindale (who worked on various comic titles from Black Orchid to Venom). He started from a copy of the original Kirby pencils and inked the copy on this bright white 11 x 17� inch Bristol board with an image area of 9.5" x 14.5". Wow! Stunning recreation of Jack Kirby's Thor #132 cover by the very talented Bruce McCorkindale! Bruce really captured the look and feel of the original. Must feel great to have that one on the wall! Great pick-up, congrats!
