Description

Commissioned from Ryan Ottley (through FCA) in 2018. Prompt was 'Adult Terra in super-suit, maybe eating some Talescrian food?' Glad he went with Kanzlok! Though I'm not quite sure how Terra feels about it...

This commission was done only a few months after the series conclusion with issue #144 in February of 2018. Adult Terra was introduced midway into the issue, and in my opinion stole the show from thereon. Walker did a phenomenal job conveying such a strong character in such a limited amount of panels, but one of the downsides of this story compression is that we never saw what Terra looked like in Ottley's style! That HAD to be remedied. As of now (mid-2024) there have only been two or three drawings of Adult Terra ever made by Ryan, so I'm glad to have been the first (and in my opinion the best!)

Personally, I think Terra is an amazing character. Her design, outfitting, personality, and style all come together to present an incredibly engaging character in such a selective group of pages. I strongly believe that she could have her own series, or even take on the mantle of succession with the franchise. Get me in a room with Kirkman and I could pitch the hell out of a one-shot. YOU HEAR ME, BOBBY?? WE NEED MORE TERRA, DAMN IT!!!

Nice humor in the piece! The paler shade of yellow works great with the grey shading and the dry brush ink to remind us of cartoons that ran in magazines.
