Né à Vignola, dans la province de Modena, en 1958, cet auteur est principalement connu pour son imaginaire, dont les thèmes dominants sont « image », « éros », « sensualité » et « amour ». Il est d’ailleurs considéré comme l’un des maîtres de la bande dessinée érotique mondiale grâce à ses personnages féminins nés dans la revue italienne « Blue » (Ginger & Rogers, Angela, Chiara Rosenberg, etc.). C’est en 1982 que Baldazzini publie sa première histoire en bande dessinée comme professionnel dans la revue Orient Express. Depuis, il a entamé une série de nombreuses collaborations, notamment avec le scénariste D. Brolli, avec lequel il crée le personnage d'Alan Hassad, et avec L. Canossa, celui de Stella Noris. Puis, avec Granata Press, il publie Ombre d’Amore, 31-12-1999, Jim - une histoire de P. Cacucci -, Fixtown et Streghe & Santarelline (Sorcières et Saintes Nitouches). Il publie ensuite chez Kappa Editions, et travaille avec des scénaristes tels que E. La Spisa – Sweet Susy -, C.Pes – Ines la ragazza pneumatica (Inès, la fille pneumatique), et D. Brolli – Stella Noris et Trans-Est. Il a également réalisé des campagnes pour ERG, AXE, Salvarani et TIM, en tant que dessinateur de publicités. De nombreuses expositions ont aussi été faîtes chez Mondo Bizzarro Gallery, à Rome. Il voit régulièrement ses albums sortir aux États-Unis, chez l'éditeur NBM, ainsi qu’en France chez Dynamite. Toujours en France, Delcourt a réédité cette année une version couleur de Chiara Rosenberg. Depuis lors, il collabore avec Dargaud à la série Des Dieux et Des Hommes, sur un scénario de Jean-Pierre Dionnet. Par ailleurs, il a élargi ses expériences artistiques, en se mettant à la peinture, l’art numérique et la photographie.
