DescriptionFrom the first cover ft starro infecting the JLA comes this striking image by the great Brian Bolland who was just starting out at DC in 1981. It has been documented in interviews that the cover image was what sparked the storyline as Bolland did the cover prior to the plot being written. Brian Bolland put Invasion of the body snatchers and Alien facehugger horror into the mainstream DCU with a clean and precise illustration! Very memorbale and striking as the heroes are now subjugated by their earliest enemy in Starro!

Just realized, Starro on the face has similar design to Sunfire. Maybe a coincidence? Beautiful pick up, by the way!
