Description

Vampirella with Panther is a realistic artwork that pays homage to this fictional vampire superheroine created by Forrest J. Ackerman and comic book artist Trina Robbins in the 1970’s for Warren Publishing.

In this version of Vampirella by Martín Rodríguez, the young woman, against a patterned background, appears in profile and on her knees looking directly at the viewer. At her side, a black panther and a bat keep her company.

The artist creates a fascinating contrast between the colors using a monochromatic palette and a few small touches of color, such as Vampirella’s costume, her gold jewelry and the blood on her hands and mouth. In addition, this allows Martin Rodriguez to emphasize the details that most define her.

Every detail was painted with precision, with a silent line, creating an extraordinary version of the symbol of terror and heroism using oil on canvas. As a result, Martín Rodríguez transforms a comic character, Vampirella, into a living being.
