DescriptionThis “hobby” is always full of surprises.It was beyond my expectation to be able to add a page by the Spider-Man artist I admire the most. I have no words to describe this beauty, so I will simply quote here John Romita's comments on the #108 - #109 issues he illustrated. I’ll always be grateful to some friends’ collectors (they know who they are) who helped me add this Masterpiece in my collection. Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1 #108_3 by John Romita Sr. (1972) "The storyline is my favorite of all the plots Stan (Lee) and I produced. It had everything I like in a story: a wide range of elements, a cast of colorful characters, and plenty of personal life thrown in. I must point out, since Stan won't, that his script was lean and crisp. The dialogue moving the story swiftly but fully and added more than you would guess at glance. But best of all was how much fun I had with the art. The setting and characters set me off on the most personally satisfying work I had done on Spider-Man. The Milton Caniff-like technique gave me a chance to pay tribute to my idol and his Terry and the Pirates strip. The giant chauffeur was based on Big Stoop from the classic run of Terry which formed my standards in my youth." -John Romita, June 1996 (from the book "Art of John Romita" by Marvel, December 1996 Social/Sharing |

The John Romita's legend was written page by page on his run on ASM, the Marvel's flaggship. This page has everything a fan can ask for. Spidey in action... Spidey swinging ... a villain... etc! Superbly penciled and inked by "Jazzy" John. I know how you have been pushing to get a page like this! You really deserve it!! I understand your feelings and emotions. I'm very happy for you!

Wonderful action page with that Romita Sr line! By this issue, Spidey is synonmous with Romita's art and there wasn't going to be anything as smooth! A classic Spidey image in panel 3 and more unique images in panels 1 and 4 to keep the audience enthralled with the fight!

Showtime! Great find of a page with everything you could ask for in a single piece. I love Romita Sr. on Spidey and this page ecompasses that entirely. Congrats Valerio!!

Agreed those couple of issues are among the best drawn by Romita. This page is full of action, amazing layout and exquisite inks. Great find!

Fabulous Amazing Spider-Man page by the great John Romita Sr, This is such terrific page--Lots of Spidey action, fun Spidey wise-cracks, what more could you ask for? As always, Romita delivers beautiful art on every panel. His drawings are clean and clear, and the inks are sharp and crisp! Congrats on picking up a great page by a true master of comic art!

I was just rereading these issues last night and thinking of the that exact quote from John's art book. John inking his own pencils during this period was about as good as it gets. Thanks for sharing and congrats!
