As far as cover recreations go this is a really great one and the fact that it's so meaningful to your collector journey and Godzilla fandom makes it even better!! Best of luck tracking down the original cover eventually, hope you find it
Thank you!
Awesome that it's all done by hand. Hope you land the real one!
Thank you! I hope so too
Stunning recreation! This was a big one for kids of that era for the excitement of getting in on a #1 issue. It was this and Shogun Warriors, because all your favorite super heroes already had their debut decades ago.
Very true, Marcus, on both the stunning quality of this recreation, AND the first issue take. I went and did a dive of the first issues I bought after I started collecting around '74. There was an amazing number indeed. Great times!

Wow, that's an awesome piece. It started with issue #10 for me as a kid. A great series and memories for me as well. Currently chipping away on my 1st OA for the series.
Wow! What a terrific recreation of a classic cover! I loved Herb's work on Godzilla and this cover is such a great example of why. herb somehow managed to update the Godzilla story and made it more believable. I love his rendering of the big G here. Fun to see the humans in the bottom of the cover running towards us in hopes of getting away. Heeb did a great job of always drawing Godzilla from a human perspective, so that we would continually be reminded of his massive size and his extraordinary destructive power. What a great commission! Congrats!
Thank you! I appreciate your insight!
GODZILLA! Miss Herb. Wonderful.
Wowwwwwwwwwwww
It's so good to get a piece that has such personal meaning, and resorting to a recreation to get it still achieves that. Good luck in finding the original.
