Description

For the third time that I can remember I broke my number 1 rule when selling something from my collection, and that is selling something when I don't have a replacement lined up unless the money or trade value is really high. The reason I pursued this piece is because I get all three characters on the same published piece. In this case a cover. I knew that finding something similar would be unbelievably hard so I worked a trade with CAFer Jim D. I had to send my Silver Surfer DPS and another piece along with cash but am satisfied that I did the deal. Now I just have to wait for another Silver Surfer example to come along...

Now the art...what an amazing piece this is! The colors are so vibrant and the characters excellently rendered. It is what you would expect from a Massafera piece. Just like my Ghost Rider cover with Miracleman, the characters are all equally important. According to Jim, Felipe works in gouache, so I am labeling this a mixed media piece. Enjoy the scan!!!

It's very cool as Massafera still uses ink linework within the painting in combination with his renowned painted colors. The rays of light coming through the jungle foliage might as well be laser beams with how they engage your sight as they reflect upon our heroes.
