DescriptionVince Locke’s cover art for the second issue of Gary Scott Beatty’s Horror Anthology Series, Strange Horror.Vince’s notes as he was working through this piece in August & September 2021, “New piece almost done.... I was working on this while out of town. I just got back and I think I need to push on a little farther. I just sealed the watercolor and coated it with a layer of Mars black and ultramarine blue tinted Ultra Matte Medium. Then I'l go over that with more colored pencil work. Keep an eye out for the completed piece!” “New piece, completed. I used a workable fixative over the watercolor and then layered ultra matte medium with a dark blue wash, and finished with colored pencil.” 9” x 12” Social/Sharing |

Beautiful in how Locke completely embraces the grotesque. It might be that smoke demon that's taken over the body and corrupted the soul.
