Description
It was the last day of Heroes Con, and I was making my final rounds, saying goodbyes, seeing if an artist was going to return to their table so I could make a late purchase (note: they did not, so maybe next time). I ran into Dave K. who showed me a pic of a painted cover by J.K. Woodward that he thought I might like. He was right so we headed over to get a closer look. Flipping through the portfolio’s there were a few pieces that I was interested in. I had not purchased any superhero art this trip and was not going to start now. The first one to jump out was a giant fly head. It was the cover to a new comic J.K. is working on called Behemoth. This is not to be confused with Nergal’s black metal band of the same name. When I mentioned the band to J.K. he said that they had a website with Behemoth in the title and it was basically taken over by fans of the band with the bulk of the comments being in Polish. He also noted that he thought the music was good when he checked it out.

I ended up picking up three pieces from J.K and then started my trek north.

Apologies for pic, it was too large for my scanner.

The reflections of the two people in the eyes are great!  That limited range of darkness on darkness is very well controlled for a believable look at what may be going through the mind of a fly looking at us about to swat it.
