Large 22.75x29" Strathmore artboard w/pen and ink original art by Harry Tuthill (1885-1957) for Nov. 20, 1932 Sunday page, featuring total of 12 panels, w/four-panel Little Brother topper strip. Hand-lettered "The Bungle Family" and "False Alarm" story titles appear between the two comic strips w/penciled date at right. Story deals w/snobbish couple stopping in to visit the Bungles, bragging about their new maid. The maid proceeds to call and through a misunderstanding, the snobby couple rush out, thinking their house was on fire. The snobby woman calls in last panel explaining that the maid was just trying to say the furnace had gone out. Tuthill has signed last panel while second-to-last panel has handwritten date. Little Brother topper shows children discussing the luck of missing school due to illness. Back has been hand-addressed in pencil to McClure Syndicate. Artboard shows moderate margin wear w/corner foxing/chipping and 6.75" tear at bottom center. Pin hole at top left corner. Scattered spots of staining, some affecting art. Lower right margin shows wear in 2.5" area. VG/Fine overall, but would make for nice framed display.
