DescriptionCLICK HERE FOR AUCTION LISTING!10.5x15.75" artboard w/pen and ink original art by Joe Staton for first story page of Justice Society of America "Only Legends Live Forever" story from Adventure Comics #461, published by DC Comics Feb. 1979. "Prologue" splash page features Multiple Earths w/their respective heroes. Earth-One has Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash (Barry Allen), Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) and The Creeper; Earth-Two has Golden Age Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman along w/The Flash (Jay Garrick), Wildcat, Green Lantern (Alan Scott) and Dr. Fate. Inked "Adventure" title and pages numbers at top margin. "Prologue" banner at top has been hand-lettered, cut out and applied to artboard, as have hand-lettered caption boxes. Partial text strip replacement to last caption box w/white tape on reverse. Back has DC copyright inkstamp. Earth-One Superman's face was redrawn by Staton (likely to further differentiate from Golden Age Superman) w/ink over white correctional fluid. Art is clean and Exc. Social/Sharing |
