CLICK HERE FOR AUCTION LISTING!14x19.75" artpaper features pen and ink original art for page from Dagger, Sword, Laugh also known as The Three Swordsmen, a Wuxia (a genre concerning martial arts adventures in ancient China) manga by manhua (comic) artist Feng Zhimin (aka Fung Chi-Ming and Lo Fung). The series was created by Feng Zhimin, along w/Chris Lau, who wrote the stories. Dagger, Sword, Laugh was the first publication produced by the duo's own company - Freeman Holding Limited - in 1988, after they had both left Jademan Comics. The series became so popular it was adapted into the Hong Kong live action film The Three Swordsmen in 1994. Considered a defining example in the Hong Kong martial arts comic industry, Feng's striking art style expertly highlights the themes of the Wuxia genre, w/the four panels of this page showing a dynamic and detailed martial arts battle, w/last panel being large splash panel. Art has been rendered in pencil/blue pencil and inked w/scatted correctional fluid touch-ups. First panel was cut out and replaced w/different original art (taped in place on back), seen here as published. Paper shows scattered handling wear w/some rippling and aged piece of tape at top margin, left of center. Some scattered margin staining at lower left, not affecting art. Fine/VF overall, but art remains clean and Exc.
