DescriptionColleen and Bret created this beautiful image of Meggan and Captain Britain, with Terry Austin writing for this fill-in issue. The happy couple is able to break away for a much-needed date. Of course, it doesn't go the way they planned...comics, right?!My buddy Jeff Dunn offered me this piece at Heroes. He had it for nearly 30 years, but unfortunately, several years ago, a pipe burst and caused significant water damage to the page. The price was cheap enough to take a gamble and see if it could be restored. If you have watched previous CAF Live episodes, you will see that Bill's close neighbor, Alexandra vonHawk, is a professional art restorer. Bill connected me with her, and you can see the amazing job she did! The page is night and day. I know many in the hobby are looking for a new or alternative source to fix damaged art; I would absolutely recommend Alexandra. The page is 11.5 by 17.5. That's ok Jeff. We are all getting that age where the plumbing is not quite what it used to be.
Unless you go the James way and get enhancements.

Amazing page! Never read and had no idea Colleen Doran did art on the book. Also, must be a ridiculously good feeling to take it in for restoration and have it come out like this. Mind blown.

I saw pre-restoration in person and Alexandra did a great job! I think Brian and Meggan are smiling just a little bigger, too :) Congrats!

The combination of Colleen's familiar, happy faces and Bret's all too familiar rendering line from this period is really fabulous!

It's an election year, we might get back another restorer into the mix by next year, but the safer bet is with Von Hawk who restores by less violent means.
