DescriptionWell, if you know you know...This is a published vol #1 interior page of Usagi Yojimbo. Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo has been going strong for 40 years, delighting fans with his anthropomorphic feudal Japanese adventures. Stan will occasionally sell a cover or pinup, but he never sells his interior pages. In issue #22, he worked on a 8 page crossover story with an artist, Ken Mitchroney, who was doing a book called Space Ark at the time. A few of the pages Stan kept, and a few were given to Ken and other contributors. On this page, we have the Space Ark crew drawn by Ken and Miyamoto Usagi is drawn by Stan. The page is also signed by both. Just an incredibly rare opportunity to add this page into my collection. Social/Sharing |

Any time you can work a cereal slogan into your dialogue is a good time! Great get, and a really fun page.

I love the fact that Mitchroney's ink was so much thicker and richer than Sakai's ink, because on top of their style looking different, the darker Mitchroney inks helps make it more obvious that 2 different artists worked on the page at different times. Very cool!

Yeah, man, you do NOT see these in the woild. Killer shot of Yojimbo in panel 3 there, too - clearly Sakai. Congrats on the rare find, brother!

Nice find! Spotting a Stan Sakai interior in the wild is almost as rare as seeing a published bit of Jeff Smith's work. The combined work on the last panel is really charming as well.

As rare as James skipping arm day! It's like a Saturday Morning Cartoon on a page. Amazing!
