Description
I came across this striking art by Hector Trunnec one day while perusing Comic Art Tracker. I checked it out, and his watercolor renderings were so cool, I decided to get a couple of pages from this book. I have not read it, but apparently Astrobots is kind of a more punk version of Transformers, and has a toy line tie in. It came out last year. This depicts the main protagonist, Apollo.

I've added a screenshot from Hector's X (it's Twitter) account where he is applying watercolors and painting this image. He uses a computer to do the initial line work, then reinforces the line with ink and applies watercolors before eventually coloring the page digitally. I think the blue-gray scale helps the digital coloring. But it is so cool.

I like the open borders of the panels to let the swirls cold bluster throughout!  You get the feel of Apollo's metal being frozen to the touch.
