Nice set! Really enjoy Michael's art.
This is a stunning double page spread with that great splashy panel. I especially like the the reactions on the faces of the onlookers. I need to read this story!!
Loved this book back in the day!
Triphammer in the enforcement
Avon Oeming Bendis hit
Revenge is sweet isn't it?
Really, really noir comic
Above the law won't fix a thing
Retro Bendis that I could bring to you
All the feels you make volumes
A Hammer Tripping in pursuit
I wish I was powered, I could shoot through
Not through, take your art, take your house
Take issues, take your heart
Now here comes that tripping plot
I'm daydreaming
Let me count the page (let me count the page)
How I'll get you (get you) or now disintegrate (ohh)
Babe, I'm Pilgrim (hurtin')
And now you'll feel the same (ooh)
That's my plan (that's my plan)
That's my plan
That's my plan
We could do revenge, revenge, revenge, revenge
Triphammer in Powers with Walker
We could take revenge, revenge, revenge
Revenge is sweet
We could do revenge, revenge, revenge, revenge
Together, Triphammer and Walker
We could take revenge, revenge, revenge (now, now)
Revenge is sweet
You know, there was a time when as a fan of realism in illustration, stuff like this just turned me off immediately. The giant, pointy square chin, etc. So I'm happy that over time, I slowly but surely gained an appreciation for it. Mostly because I was able to get past the style and focus on the substance, but in time, even the style has really grown on me!
The arrival, then the eventual BLAST. Whew, watch out folks! What a way to set the scene then get things going...
What an incredible spread
Intense reveal dps!
Powers was a great read. It was one of those rare comic books that let us readers see Superheroes the way ordinary people saw them. In this splash, we look up at the super-powered Triphammer from the same POV as detectives Walker and Pilgrim. Like them, we are powerless to intervene. Gorgeous layout and art from Michael Avon Oeming really made this book a pleasure to read. Fabulous pick-up, congrats!
